Could your firm do with some help, guidance or assistance in all matters relating to Wills, Probate, Trusts & Tax?

If you are a law practice or accountancy firm or a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and need a second opinion or specific advice on a particular client matter I can help. I can also provide more generic legal advice, the knowledge of which could benefit your firm in the long term.

I set up Gill Steel Law Practice in January 1996, specialising in Wills, Probate, Trusts and Tax. From the outset the firm only provides advice to private client departments in these areas.

About Gill Steel

I qualified as a solicitor in July 1983 and currently I act as a consultant to Blake Lapthorn. I am a member of the Law Society's Wills & Equity Committee, STEP's UK Practice Committee and the Association of Taxation Technicians.

Trying to keep up to date with the changes in legislation and trying to resolve difficult client matters can be testing and time consuming. By outsourcing your technical queries in my specialist areas of Wills, Probate, Trusts and Tax you will have legal technical assistance at your fingertips.

Our Law Consultancy Process

My office will then respond with Terms of Business and if necessary, a request for any further information required to provide advice and a fee estimate.

A quotation for the consultancy work is then submitted for your review which includes the estimated fee and the timescale involved and on receipt of your authority to proceed  the matter will be placed in our system.  We will always do our best to respond in the quickest time feasible.  I do however, deal with all matters on a strictly first come first served basis.

Anti Money Laundering Regulations 2007

We were advised by The Law Society in 2003 that in acting on behalf of your firm we may ask you to be our agent for the purposes of obtaining the client identification documents in relation to client specific advice, in addition to our Terms of Business.

Consultancy

My consultancy is available for law and accountancy firms only and is relevant to the law of England and Wales.  I am a sole practitioner and I do not undertake advisory work for members of the general public.
 

The consultancy is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and a copy of the regulations can be found at: Solicitors Regulation Authority Code of Conduct 2011.
